Having worked in the field since 2004, Ms. Goodman has extensive experience in the areas of business and family-based immigration. She represents clients before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) with regard to non-immigrant visa applications, extraordinary ability, national interest waiver, and professional worker petitions, family based immigrant visa petitions, and applications for naturalization. She practices before the Executive Office for Immigration Review, representing clients in removal proceedings with regard to asylum requests, applications to adjust status to permanent residence, cancellation of removal, bond hearings, and other forms of relief.

She obtained her Doctor of Jurisprudence from New York Law School with distinction in 2007, and her Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from St. Lawrence University in 2004.  While attending law school, Ms. Goodman served as a Legislative Intern with the New York City Department of Legislation in District-1 where she was involved in handling post-9/11 legislation.  As a Research Assistant and Extern in her final year, she also contributed to a large-scale publication on ISP Liabilities in the former, and litigation drafting in the former.

Ms. Goodman is licensed in the State of New York and can practice immigration nationally. In addition, she holds memberships with the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA), American Bar Association (ABA) and the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).  She also is a Committee Member on Immigration and Naturalization with both the NYSBA and ABA.

Evidencing her commitment to pro bono legal services, Ms. Goodman has also worked with the Justice for Neighbors Legal Clinic providing legal services to asylum seekers and provided Haitian TPS Application Assistance through the City of New York Citizenship Now project.  Equally notable, she has volunteered her services for AILA’s Citizenship Day since 2004.
